Camping with the Canadians

Well we finally met with the Canadians (& Jon)!

After an extra nigh-shift that tried to spoil a start to what has been a fab weekend away, we bizarrely met outside Haddon Grove, as they were returning back to the camp-site, we were just arriving!
Obviously we started as we meant to carry on; with lots of dilly faces, running around, role playing, running around, exploring, eating, falling over, running around, staying up late and much more...
...and then Jon upped the ante..................with what seems to be a favourite of his: licking slugs!

They also enjoyed some bluberrys............................a spot of food for free you might say!

On our travels around the enchanted world we met the Lord & Lady of the Errwood Hall, to where the scene of the once famous hall had led to the climax of a fantasy told by Alan Garner (The Moon of Gomrath).

Sam decided to have in on some of the action:
wit Summer being an O'l hand at it:
Doph ended up petting one or three!
and with Windgather just over yonder, we mossied over for a spot of hard core 'hide choccy biscuits' on tiny ledges to motivate and cajol:

We then spilled out onto Derwent Water (Fairholmes reservoir) for a spot of Lancaster Bomber impressions, lots more running about and shouting (well Sam that was!):
Bringing the French Chic!

Can't come past here, until you give me a kiss (kissing gates)

A final wee jaunt around 'spot the wooden animals and all swear blind that a mouse is a beaver' game all led to ice-creams...............hooorah!

A massive thanks goes out to the wee Canadian posse - we all had a fab time and wished we could have you guys around more often................no, wait, sorry; scrub that: we be around you guys more often (in Ottawa)!
